3D Printed Ventilators
In April and May 2020, a few people, including myself, took it upon ourselves to create and build ventilators to help alleviate the stress put upon hospitals due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Collectively, we printed out open source .stl files and got together (while remaining socially distanced) and assembled and programmed the bodies and arduinos respectively. The finished pieces were quality tested and flown to FEMA to distribute as they saw fit. While the ventilators could not help with the most severe of cases, they were confirmed to help replace nurses who were having to manually pump the pulmonary bag valve.
