Blog

September Projects

I figured that I should start keeping a blog detailing exactly what I’ve been up to.

1.) Blender

I’ve decided to really get into learning 3D modeling and printing. Blender is a a free open source program that is used for modeling, animation, and more. It’s known to have a very steep learning curve, but I’m trying it anyways! I can really see why people struggle with it, as it involves memorizing lots of keyboard shortcuts, but one can quickly tell how intuitive the program is. After hours of poking around (and restarting after losing menus), I made my very first 3D render in the program… a really wonky looking chair.

2.) UX/UI

With a coworker out of the office for maternity, the past couple months have been dedicated to app creation and UX/UI. It’s been quite a ride learning the language, wireframe techniques, researching, and creating something as big as a mobile app.

3.) Spanish

Porque yo vivo en una ciudad cerca de Mexico, yo quiero aprender espanol. Creo que sabiendo una segundo idioma es muy importante.

Living in San Diego is a wonderful experience. One of the best aspects of America’s Finest City is its proximity to our neighbors to the south. I feel, because of such, that it is important to at least have basic conversational understanding of the language, not only for better communication, but a better understanding of each others’ lives and cultures.
